Terms & Conditions
Booking
Bookings are only accepted on return of the completed booking form along with
a deposit of ?20 for a full day or ?16 for a half day, unless otherwise agreed.
The deposit must be received at least 14 working days prior to the event and the
booking will remain unconfirmed until the deposit has been received. Once a booking
has been confirmed the deposit is non-refundable. Acton Adventures reserves the
right to make exceptions to the above where instances dictate.
Payment
Where no other terms have been specifically agreed in writing, payment shall
be due in full on the day of the event. Where terms have been agreed any sums
not paid by the customer by the due date shall bear interest of three percent
per annum above the First Trust Bank base lending rate per annum or part thereof
from the due date to the date when payment received. The time of payment shall
be the essence of the contract.
Cancellation
The customer may cancel their booking up to 14 working days before the date of
the activity with no charges levelled except the deposit. All cancellations must
be notified in writing and signed by the person who originally made the booking;
they are accepted as of the date received by Acton Adventures. Any cancellation
received after the 14 working day period will carry charges to cover any costs
incurred by Acton Adventures but not exceeding 50% of the full cost of the activities
booked. Acton Adventures reserves the right to cancel any activity on the day
of the event if weather conditions put the participants into danger. The Company?s
decision is final. Alternate activities may be offered where possible or a refund
given.
Participating Numbers (Group bookings)
The customer will supply Acton Adventures with fixed numbers of participants
no later than 14 working days before the date of the event. Any reduction after
that date will incur a cost to the customer that will cover the operating costs
of Acton Adventures for that event. Where a customer on the day fails to attend
or is late for his session due to no fault of Acton Adventures the customer will
have no recourse for any refunds. Any increase in participating numbers will only
be accepted by agreement with Acton Adventures.
Equipment and Clothing
Acton Adventures will provide all equipment required to participate in the chosen
activities including overalls and safety equipment. Acton Adventures will not
supply footwear or gloves to its customers. Acton Adventures does not take responsibility
for providing suitable clothing to participate in its activities and takes no
responsibility for the loss or damage to personal effects or clothing. Any equipment
damaged by a participant in circumstances where instruction has not been followed
will be charged to the person responsible.
Instruction and Insurance
Acton Adventures will provide all instruction and insurance for those persons
participating in activities. Acton Adventures reserves the right to decline individual
participants on the day of the activities if they are not in a fit condition to
undertake the activities chosen. All participants must be made aware by the person
booking that outdoor activities carry an element of risk. Acton Adventures have
tried to minimise the risks involved to participants but participants will only
be accepted on the understanding that they are aware of these risks and wish to
participate of their own free will. All participants must sign the Acton Adventures
Disclaimer before participating in the events.
